“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matt 28:19).
This is the Great Commission of our Risen Lord. For centuries, these words have prompted missionaries to go, leaving behind family and friends, moving to remote places, proclaiming the gospel, and baptizing the converted. As a result, the message of salvation in Jesus Christ has been spreading to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). But how does the Great Commission apply in the 21st century? Through immigration the nations are coming to us. Do we still need to go to them? Through technology, we can instantly link up people living on opposite sides of the globe. Do we still need to send missionary families far away where they may well have to learn a new language and a new culture?
These questions were addressd at the 2020 CRMA/CRTS Conference held January 16 to 18, 2020 in Burlington, Ontario. The speakers at the conference shared a heartfelt conviction that, yes, the need for world mission is still as strong as ever! Click the link below to watch videos of the speeches.
