Peacefully at Shalom Manor in Grimsby, Ontario, on Saturday, April 15, 2017, following a lengthy illness, the Lord called to himself Jack DeJong in his 68th year. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Smeding) for 36 years. Loved father of Joanna and Ryan VanHof, David and Crystal, Tim and Biz, Esther and Greg VanMiddelkoop, Nathan and Amber, Carina and Jon Kamstra, and Brendan. Dear Grandpa of Heidi, Taliah, Miriam, Elena, Edie, Gabriel, Callie, and Jack. In health and illness, his confession was "Praise God from whom all blessings flow."
Dr. Jack DeJong served the church as pastor of congregations in London and Burlington from 1978-1990 and as professor at the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary as Professor of Ecclesiology and Diaconiology from 1990-2003. The entire seminary community is deeply thankful for his years of service as he instilled a love for preaching the gospel in all his students.

I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes--I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! (Job 19:25-27)
