"Enlarge the place of your tent,
do not hold back":
Reflections on the missional calling of the Canadian Reformed Churches

By Dr. Arjan deVisser

No registration required for the evening lecture.

“It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Gal 2:20)

It is Christ who gives life to believers and who binds them together as his Spirit-filled body, the church. But how does this glorious truth impact practical matters of church life? How does the love of God in Christ touch down in our preaching and teaching, our mission work, and our corporate worship? How does Christ’s work as Prophet, Priest, and King impact the daily life of the church in the 21st century?

Come and join us to explore these topics and more at the 11th annual CRTS Conference, to be held September 8 and 9, 2023.

With this theme, the conference will also commemorate the work and service of Dr. Arjan de Visser, who is retiring after 19 years as Professor of Ministry and Mission at CRTS and after 15 years on the mission fields in South Africa. During his time as professor, he instructed a generation of students in subjects that deal most intensively with the concrete life of the church – preaching, mission, liturgics, catechetics, and pastoral care.

The event will feature four keynote speakers: Dr. Erik van Alten from South Africa, Dr. Jannes Smith and Dr. Arjan de Visser from CRTS, and Dr. Christine van Halen-Faber from the Covenant Canadian Reformed Teachers College in Hamilton, Ontario.

In addition, there will be ample time for audience interaction and opportunity for fellowship over a meal. We are also planning some special musical interludes that you won’t want to miss!

The conference is intended for everyone, regardless of age or educational background. There will be one free evening lecture open to those who have not registered for the Saturday portion of the conference:

Friday, September 8 (8 pm, Redeemer University in Hamilton, as part of the CRTS Convocation)

The 2023 conference will be sponsored in part by the CRMA (Canadian Reformed Missions Association). Please follow the links to the left for more information and to register online. We hope to see you there!
