Arjan de Visser

Dr. Arjan de Visser has served as professor of Ministry and Mission at the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary in Hamilton since 2004. Before coming to Canada he served for fifteen years as a missionary church planter, pastor and teacher in Soshanguve, South Africa. He received his theological education at the Theol. University in Kampen (Reformed Churches liberated), Netherlands, and completed his Th.D. studies at the University of Potchefstroom with a dissertation on the Lordship of Christ in African churches. Arjan and his wife Inge have been blessed with three children and six grandchildren.


Jannes Smith

Dr. Jannes Smith holds a PhD degree in Septuagint Studies from the University of Toronto. Born in the Netherlands, he grew up on his parents' farm in Belwood, Ontario, and studied for the ministry at the Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary. After serving for five years as pastor of the Free Reformed Church in Albany, Australia, he was appointed as Professor of Old Testament at CRTS and has been serving as such since 2010.


Erik van Alten

Dr. Erik van Alten is pastor of the Free Reformed Church Pretoria, in South Africa. He previously served for more than 8 years at the Evangelical Reformed Seminary of Ukraine. He is happily married to Tineke, and they have been blessed with four children, between the ages of 19 and 11. 


Christine van Halen-Faber

Dr. Christine van Halen-Faber serves as the Principal of Covenant Canadian Reformed Teachers College in Hamilton. She is an adjunct lecturer at CRTS where, together with her colleagues, she lectures on catechetics and evaluates catechetics field placements of the Pastoral Training Program. Henk and Christine van Halen live in beautiful Flamborough and are members of Rehoboth Canadian Reformed Church.
